Brief Introduction:
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer, typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB), between its two or more layers of glass. The interlayer keeps the layers of glass bonded even when broken, and its high strength prevents the glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces. This produces a characteristic "spider web" cracking pattern when the impact is not enough to completely pierce the glass. The PVB interlayer also gives the glass a much higher sound insulation rating, due to the damping effect, and also blocks 99% of incoming UV radiation.
Specification:
1. Thickness: glass thickness 3mm-19mm, pvb thickness: 0.38mm,0.76mm,1.14,1.52mm,2.28mm,3.04mm.
2. Interlayer : local brand pvb film, dupont pvb, sentry sgp available, colors available.
3. Holes, notches available to be cut by hand tools or by cnc water jet cutting machines .
4. Shape: flat and bent ,rectangular or shaped all ok according to cad drawings.
5. Edges: High polished edges, flat or round edges.
Application:
1. External use of windows, doors, shopfronts in offices, houses, shops etc.
2. Interior glass screens, partitions, balustrades etc.
3. Shop display windows, showcases, display shelves etc.
4. Furniture, table-tops, curtain wall etc.
Advantage:
1. Sound insulation - When the sound waves passed PVB,it obviously weakened.
2. Safety - As the PVB is very toughness when the sandwich glass is broken as a result of external force, the glass fragments will still stick to the film without falling off.
